i wasnt sure where to post this, so please dont get upset. i am currently considering going into pharmacy, but want something in addition to a pharmD degree. i am undecided between pharmd/mba and pharmd/jd. i dont think either are common, especially the latter. any tips on either of these combinations??? whats the salary like for both? can you really go the extra mile with the extra degree (mba/jd)? in any event i like science, but like it even more when its being used together with another degree. any advice is appreciated.

thanks all!

You'd be surprised to find that joint PharmD/MBA and PharmD/JD degrees are gaining popularity. Reason being, pharmacy is growing beyond its traditional roles. The expertise and knowledge of pharmacists is being utilized outside of the pharmacy. As with any other industry, a background in business can be beneficial as you understand what makes a business tick and intricacies of operations. Pharmacy is also getting heavily involved with law.

Either joint degree will provide synergistic benefits, yet it depends on what do you wish to accomplish in the future and what degrees will aid you in attaining these goals?

im currently in pharm school and was also curious about the advantages of having an MBA.. it seems that a lot of pharmD's are getting to be managers without MBA's.... is there any good reason to get the MBA? does anyone know of any exclusive MBA/pharmD jobs??
im also curious cos i used to be in business school and have some classes already...
