Well, I am going to have my dissertation proofread. I was wondering if anyone used any of the online services? and which websites have you used? Would be nice of they have experience doing science dissertations as well. I do not want to hassle collegues because it is a lot of work and english is not my first language, so i would rather pay someone trustable to correct all my errors.

try essayedge.com and ask for Allison!

Don't you have any members of your lab who are native speakers? I was the only American in my lab, so I proofread all of the manuscripts for the post docs and other students, helped them practice their presentations, etc. They did other things to help me. Sharing your skills is part of being someone's colleague, IMO. I would suggest that you use spellcheck first, and then give it to one of them to correct for grammar. If they are native speakers who are familiar with your work, it won't take them that long to get through your manuscript; they can probably read English much faster than you can. 🙂

Did you do your defense yet? If so, congrats, and if not, good luck!
