Is anyone currently attending a DPT programs in Philadelphia that can rate their program?
Hi PjPt, I'm thinking of applying to Temple. I have a really good GPA (3.7) but my GRE is horrible. Do you think GRE is going to ruin my chances? Should I still apply? I know GRE is pretty important to Temple. What do you think?Currently at Temple.....learning alot.....program doesnt always make sense (i.e. spent 9 weeks doing anatomy and 6 weeks doing physiology -- 2 days covered endocrine system.....2 DAYS!) having a fun time though....profs. seem to care alot....facilities are all over the place (anatomy in medical school, clinical room in pharmacy building, random classes in dental school....plus side is everything is close by.....down side is your in north philly) doesnt always seem like money is going far (i.e. having to buy own lab coats AND sow on the patches - i dont even know how to sow)....bottom line is you get out what you put in.....if you have any questions shoot me an email at [email protected].....
currently studying for physio final as we speak....so it may be a few days for a response.....

i got into temple and my GRE's were horrible.you'll be fine. i had a meeting with their program advisor. he told me exactly how they decide who gets in and who doesn't. you should be fine. how was your quantitative GRE? they take that into consideration

I applied to Temple as well...so they take quantitative into account more so than verbal? I hope so...and so, how do they decide?
I had a meeting with Steve Carp, the head PT admissions guy and instructor..he told me they do rolling admissions and how that works is...
Once they receive all the application materials, they put it into one of 3 piles..One pile is "Guaranteed"..another pile is "Borderline" and the other pile is "Not Probable"...Once they receive 100 applications, they invite all the students in the "Guaranteed" and "Borderline" pile for interviews. This process is repeated for EVERY 100 applications they receive.
How do they decide who is in the "Guaranteed" pile? He told me some formula that I forget exactly off the top of my head but it was something like GPA * quantitative GRE score and some other number...something along those lines
He did mention and emphasize having at least 1000 on the GRE as they use that as a cutoff. I'm sure however if you have a stellar GPA, you'll be fine.
He also said they don't really bother looking at letters of rec or experience...really made me feel great considering I don't have much of a competitive GPA
