I just got an interview from Loma Linda and they offered to do a phone interview as I am currently living overseas. I was just wondering if anyone has any experiences with such a procedure, and if there is a disadvantage over a face to face interview. I would like to essentially talk to the interview face to face as I feel there is an added connectedness to the experience. However, my flight ticket would cost me over $1500 as I live halfway across the world. I just don't want to be put in a disadvantage for admissions.

I would appreciate any thoughts.

I believe that if you can, then always choose the face to face interview. A face to face interview allows them to get a better feel for you (is. Body language. Etc...stuff you can't tell over a phone interview). With that being said, $1500 is a lot of money, and I think they understand that, which is why they're giving you the phone option. I was not offered a phone interview from LLU, only a face to face.

Good luck!

Is there any way that it could be done via Skype? That way you could see each other face to face and avoid the flight? Just an idea...you would almost assume they'd have this plan set up already as I'd bet you aren't the first overseas interviewer.
