phone interviews?...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Never heard of or experienced that, myself.

I know of some folks that had phone interviews for various reasons...either they didn't get ERAS in within the deadline, or were unable to fly cross-country due to an extenuating circumstance.

It seems as though the questions are fairly similar, and are often done in a phone-conference format. Things like "why psychiatry," "do you have any family or connections to this area" are standard fare both in face-to-face and phone interviews.

Good luck.

Current Psychiatry has had articles on phone interviews.

It'd be better for you to read the article instead of me summarizing it here, especially since I haven't read it in months. Just go to their website and look it up in the search box.

The article did point out several pitfalls of doing a phone interview--such as you'd still be just as liable as an in-person interview, and the possibility of missing things on a phone interview goes way up.
