I have yet to encounter a question that asked me to identify a phonocardiogram or whatchamacallem.
However, it is important to know certain characteristics i.e. whether something is diastolic/systolic/holosystolic
Associations with clicks and snaps is important.
Mitral stenosis - opening snap shortly after s2
Aortic stenosis - ejection click, crescendo-decrescendo
Mitral valve prolapse - midsystolic click, late systolic
Mitral Regurgitation - Holosystolic left sternal border radiating to axilla
These 4 with the following keywords have shown up the most for me so I'd know them cold.
