  1. Attending Physician
To the prs residents/attendings out there:

Any suggestions on a simple, small, preferably freeware, program that will allow me to compress digital image files? I have a couple of "image editing" programs but they are very cumbersome to install/use. Any thoughts on something small, and simple, and quick to use?

Painful HIPAA warning . . .

Email in most forms is not a secure form of communication. While it is convenient, it would be best to ensure that no identifiers are contained. My friend's program had an internal audit by their hospital and was reprimanded for things like using email to communicate patient information. Painful? Yes. We all appreciate the intent of HIPAA, but it can be a real pain in the ass.

Thanks for the advice.

If you like Photoshop but don't like to pay for it, use The GIMP.
If you find Photoshop too complex, use Paint.NET.

Both are free, and can do this job in seconds.
