hello, i'm an optom student but not from US. anyway.
if there was a patient who experienced flashes of light like lightning say 10 times in a few weeks after a year of contact lenses, but afterwards the flashes stopped after she discontinued use of contacts.

would this be the start of a retina detatchment?
or
perhaps a infection?

does this have *anything* to do with contact lenses?
thank you for the help

Or it could possibly be a vitreal detachment (PVD)...especially if the person is very myopic. I work with a retinal specialist and this happens a lot. They should have it monitored though because it can also just be the retina being tugged which may eventually lead to a detachment in the future.
