Hi..I have a quick question. Can you tell me the most commonly used physical exam textbook at podiatry schools? Do most schools use the same book? Thanks!
Bates is the standard for med, pod, etc schools. Don't hesitate to buy the 2nd most recent edition and save some $, though. It hasn't changed a whole lot aside from a CD with newer editions, and you will probably watch videos in the classroom or have a lab anyways.
Sorry to sound ignorant but I'm not in podiatry school. I was just looking to buy some books for my friend who will be starting podiatry school next year. So are you saying that during your physical exam course, you learn to do a full-body physical exam? I would think its mostly limited to the lower extremities. Thanks for the info.

Yep, for our physical diagnosis course, a podiatry student will be doing a full-body physical exam, head to toe. There are other courses where we learn specifically lower extremity exams in more depth, but our physical diagnosis course is at least equivilent to that of our DO student colleagues (speaking for AZPod specifically).
