Physically assaulted by a customer, for not being able to compete her Rx.

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey, I know I'm not a pharmacist, so my advice is only educated by my non-pharmacy experience. But to all the people saying the OP missed her "window of opportunity"? BS.

OP, call the non-emergency line & speak with the officer there. Explain the situation and tell him you would like to file a report & charges, what your concerns are, and ask what your best course of action would be. I would keep the discussion about what your company / manager / DM is or is not doing for the assailant out of your discussion. Keep it on topic: you were assaulted at work. Give them any contact information they may need to look into the charges. If you don't feel like you got a good answer, go down to the police station and ask for someone to help you.

Absolute worst case scenario, the police have to file a report for you, which at least creates the precedent in case (heaven forbid) something happens with

this woman again, or there is another similar incident during which your company refuses to take action.

I said she missed the window of golden opportunity, where it was easiest to deal with this, because calling police right then and there would have been the most perfect scenario as
emotions were flying high and doubtfully the woman even would deny she out her hands on
op.

With this being said, I urged her MULTIPLE times to file a polilce report for the same exact reasons you described above and she seemed to indicate she feels it would introduce more stress into her life hence the reason for her not doing it.

I grew up in san francisco for christ's sake, that's the nation's capital of political correctness and tolerance and based on the forum discussions in the past, I can teach political correctness to quite a few on this forum.

THAT is definitely a statement that I cannot argue against. 👍

When you put it like that, it's different than the first comments in the thread (including yours that I quote from). Here is the sentiment I was responding to:

... Not sure what you can do now. I suppose you could still make the report.

I doubt you are now going to get much accomlished because you sort of missed your big window of opportunity.

i think you missed the window of opportunity to do anything significant, especially if the video evidence is not there

I don't think using ******ed or ghey is appropriate in any professional environment or on the internet where people may associate your comments with your profession/organization that you represent. Granted, I am sure many of us have made those slurs among friends and we are not always conscious of it. It doesn't make it right, though.

Ghey is not a slur, refer to the lounge for the appropriate thread 😕 where we renamed ghey entirely and it is ghey not gay - a totally different word with an entirely different meaning.

And I hope I come across not angry but disappointed: I am done being lectured about this. Just like you may find my use of it inappropriate, I find two mods ganging up on me over something I specifically stated was not used by me in the offensive sense completely
inapproproate as well.

We aren't "ganging up" chebs, just stating our opinions. However you want to use those words is your prerogative. It's not like we've never disagreed before; we can still be friends 🙂

Not everyone reads the lounge tho

😳

I was just trying to be helpful...🙁

😛

I hope that condom breaks inside her and she gets pregnant! lol

I hope I never have to deal with a "situation" like that. I have been taking kickboxing for 4 years now and fight sparring matches every now and then. I would have put her in a sleeper hold. Made her pass out. Leave her on the floor and call the cops and have them pick that scumbag up and deal with it lol

Yeah, it's like the episode of South Park. I think it was called "The F Word".

Seriously...you don't know better?
Don't waste your breath; you'll be accused of being "too sensitive". I'm not sure what's not to understand about it, myself. Using it to refer to inanimate objects IS exactly what is offensive.

Two things cheburashka, The "I was raised in San Francisco argument" is no better than the "I have gay/black/mentally handicapped friends argument". Also, saying that someone who is bothered by an offensive statement interpreted it incorrectly (?) does not take the burden off of you for saying it.

The n-word was not always a pejorative either, but it is now. I doubt you (general) would want to argue that one.

This is the best advice so far. Although, I suspect that the OP is a troll.

And dont even think about saying "thats weak" in case you offend someone with smaller guns than you.

my first thought is i would decline the prescription from the beginning if it was for a male condom. a prescription is intended for an ultimate user, and she's definitely not a male. right? the doctor is clearly allowing her to use her insurance for her partner's lifestyle, but that doesn't mean as a pharmacist we cannot refuse the prescription. it's not written as its intended to be used. on the other hand if it was for a female condom then theres nothing wrong with it.

Anyone ever seen that video where you're told to count how many times some people pass basketballs, and the trick is that a gorilla walks into the scene partway through unnoticed by the people intent on counting?

Yeah, I just had a gorilla moment from this response. 👍
