A friend of mine is considering new practice this ( clinic based ) soon where he will only collect the physician fees..

How helpful is the asipp physician fee schedule in determining how much will be paid based on different insurance companies? This fee schedule on the link is mainly for Medicare right?

Only Medicare. Most commercial insurers will be higher, Medicaid lower. Plan on Medicare fee schedule only and you shouldn't be disappointed by income estimate.

My lowest in Ca was an HMO that paid 80% of Medicare

this seems highly unlikely. how do you know this, and can you link an article that shows this? and are you sure you are not thinking about the Medicare advantage or exchange plans, which charge medicaid rates, probably throughout the country?
