My premedical club is hosting a physician spouse panel this week. The purpose of the panel is to provide insight and paint a picture for what life is like for spouses/significant others of medical students/residents/physicians through the entire process. I was hoping to have some questions ready, and was hoping to receive some help from everyone on student doctor. Please post your questions that you think would be good to present in a discussion. Thanks for your help! We will be recording the video and I would be happy to share the link for those interested.

Our panel consist of spouses of residents in family medicine residency, neonatologist, and an ENT.

Did any of you not consider divorce during intern year? How did medicine change your spouse? What sacrifices did you make? How did you come to peace with those sacrifices? Did you feel like the school and residency program adequately supported and included families? How could they do better? How did you fit kids in? What did you do about child care?

I think this panel is a great idea. This sort of thing gets too little attention in my opinion.
