Physicians for Patient Protection

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Members don't see this ad :)
I just joined and would recommend others do as well. It's free for medical students.

If the AMA doesn't have the balls to lobby effectively we need to organize and get things done ourselves.

This is from their twitter account.

I came across this organization recently. I think everyone should consider joining it.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm in for sure.

Also take a look at this: Scholarship Available!

It's from last year but i'm hoping to see more of the group's awareness on here

I accidentally tripped and found this organization myself, too. SDN should probably have some sort of ad about it because for how important they are right now, they’re pretty garbage about getting the word out. They need to get attention in politics if they want any traction and they’ve got under a year to do it.

Love it. It's about time someone had the balls to tell midlevels to go choke on a thick spicy one. Joining now.

Although I hope they aren't pushing for GME expansion because it kind of sounds like they might.
We need GME expansion instead of NPP expansion. That’s what they’d ideally have.

There is an upcoming event (March 30-31):

Seems like registration is free for medical students.

"Join PPP as we talk to legislators in Washington, DC.

Monday March 30: Join us for dinner and some basic training on lobbying. Dinner will be at cost to you.

Tuesday March 31: Join us as we meet with legislators from YOUR state. We will provide you with materials and talking points, as well as a schedule. Topics to discuss will include the recent executive order regarding scope of practice and pay parity, GME funding, and the ACA requirement for NPs to make up more than 50% of the clinicians in rural health centers, as well as the rural pass-through issue.

Hotel information will be available soon!"

They should advertise this better than they are. Maybe we should spread the word on SDN and Reddit. People especially in the D.C. area should try and make it out there and see what it's all about. We should try to support an organization like this.
