would it be better just to get a physics book and just learn everything all over again than to study with the oat based books, because i find the questions are much harder than the actual test?

In my opinion, a physics text is going to go into far more detail than is required for the OAT. You will likely waste a lot of time learning things well beyond the scope of the OAT if studying directly from a physics text. I would think that the better option would be to use an OAT specific study resource to go through the physics, and if you get to something you can't understand, then look it up as reference in the physics text. Just my $.02
