HI

FOR SOMEONE TAKING PHYSICS THIS SEMESTER, WHAT ARE SOME GREAT TIPS TO SUCCEED IN THE CLASS AND MAKE GREAT GRADES, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY UNDERSTAND THE MATERIAL. ALSO DO ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS TO SUCCEED IN BIOLOGY I TOO. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

for physics: be able to memorize a whole lotta equations. do as many practice problems possible. i cant emphasize the last one enough.

for biology: the lab work will really help you out in the lecture (well, it did for me). and dont MEMORIZE the material, instead, understand it.

for physics the most important thing is to do problems, know all the formulas, and the little variations of the formulas, if you dont have the strongest morals just type them into your calculator

For physics.. take anti-narcoleptic pills :-\

Ha! So very true!

Dont fall behind on problem sets/reading.

Focus and complete concentration are key factors in absorbing, interpreting, and utilizing the sciences.

Before taking on scientific subject matter such as those two, you must not only interpet in an abstract respect but also in a logical respect. The formulas in Physics are not some numerical monstrosity out to confuse you but more to help in solving. Flash cards, in your PDA, on your desktop background, in your daily planner, on your refrigerator, on the throne 🙂laugh: ), anywhere to practice an equation and have them down will assist in your labs and of course on th exams.

Biology I, again a similar approach with more emphasis on the logical understanding of the subject matter presented to you. Its the basic foundation for whats to come.
Be sure to have a good diet while attending school, and get plenty of rest. I know it sounds mawkish, but it really does support your endeavors. Anti-Oxidants do wonders for your memory and we all know, don't cram.

Lesson #1 fpr doing well in Biology and Physics: Do NOT listen to anything that comes out of Squat N Squeeze's mouth (er...well..anus*).

Lesson #2 for doing well in Biology and Physics: For physics, doing practice problems is probably the best strategy. Try to do as many of the problems in the back of the chapters of the textbook you study out of. Do more problems than are assigned for homework and try to access previous midterms if your professor makes them available to the class. For biology, you'll probably have to memorize most of the material in the introductory-level/general biology courses because you won't really learn the mechanisms behind those concepts until you take biochemistry, physiology, etc. Just read the chapters and read them over again if you have to in order to absorb as much material as possible. Good luck!

HI

THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. DO YOU THINK THESE ARE VERY HARD CLASSES TO TAKE TOGETHER. ALSO IS PHYSICS HARDER THAN CHEMISTRY IN YOUR OPINION.

At my school, physics and chemistry are about equally difficult. And I do think that taking those two classes together is completely doable. Best of luck!
