Hey everyone. I am taking physics right now, and I was wondering if it needs to be trig or calc based physics?

The answer is "it depends". If you want to do research/development, then you will want to take calculus based physics. Otherwise, trig based is fine. It is also fine to take trig based and then calculus based later if you are interested in a research career.
