I took physics I at my university and received a B- and that discouraged me and I decided to take physics II at my CC and I got an A. Should I take it again at my university? I had received an associates degree from this CC and I could mention that I still had credit at the CC due to a scholarship (which is true). So my plan was to take the class as a "practice" because I never took physics in high school (the subject is completely new to me) and physics I destroyed me. I have no problem taking the class again but I'm wondering it's necessary.

thank you

Hi DannyW,

If you need the GPA boost, go ahead and retake the class. Otherwise, I would only retake it if you feel that you have not learned the material. I took my first quarter of physics at UCLA (A- lec/B+ lab), and the remaining quarters at UCI (all A's). Despite the grade differences I learned physics well enough to earn a 14PS on the MCAT; and I would argue that the difference between a 14 and a 15 was NOT caused by that A-/B+.

I took physics 1 at my university and got a B-, I took physics 2 at a state college (not cc though), mostly because it fit my schedule, my university didn't have it during the summer, and the physics professors at my school are terrible (half of my class at the state college were from my university), and I ended up getting an A. I wouldn't take a whole bunch of prereqs at a cc, but one or two should be fine if you get A's in them, and prove you know the material by your MCAT score 🙂
