Hi guys! 🙂 Question for those who have taken Physics for a pre-req.....Did anyone take an Intro to Physics or Applied Physics and have it fulfill your requirement? If you could, share what college of pharmacy took it please? I am just curious to see if anyone has had this experience. My college doesn't offer Physics 1 this summer and in the fall my schedule is only Tuesday and Thursday and I commute 90 miles one way. 😳 They offer it but of course it is M, W and F. 😀

Thank you!

I took trig based physics as opposed to calc based. I know Appalachian and MUSC require and accept the trig based class. I don't know of many schools who only accept calc based. I believe trig based is widely accepted. Email the school you're interested in attending to inquire.

I think your issue is very common of not being able to find certain classes during the summer. The demand isn't as high and there aren't as many professors who want to teach over the summer, so class selections are much more limited.

I took Calc-based Physics when I was in undergrad. The one I took was for Physics majors and Chemistry majors.

So the college that offers physics 1 this summer is 90 minutes away and offers it MWF? I was a bit confused by your last two sentences.

Hey Sprinkles, I sent you a private message.

All of the schools I've applied to have listed just Physics I and/or Physics II as pre-reqs. I think MCPHS-Boston was the only school that specifically mentioned calc-based physics as a requirement, but I still got invited for an interview there with algebra-based Physics I and II. I think they'll still give you the time of day when you send in applications, but don't be terribly shocked if they encourage or ask you to retake it at their school.

OP, you really should check the School Information page on PharmCAS.org and/or the individual school websites to be absolutely sure you're taking the right Physics.
