Physiology or Genetics

I plan on taking the MCAT in April (with the expectations of having to retake it in Aug). So....Now I must decide to either take Physiology or Genetics in preparation. Any suggestions? Thanks.... 🙂

Take physiology. Genetics is rarely tested on the MCAT.

PHYSIOLOGY for sure... MCAT IS ALL PHYSIO.. the basic genetics you need is easy to learn on your own.

I say Genetics... they replaced a good portion of the Bio section's Orgo with Genetics and on my form, at least, Genetics was a pig part of it and was more difficult than your intro stuff... Physiology on the other hand was all basic crap my daughter in 4th grade knows... I guess it depends on you, both are important but with the new forms I would say Genetics all the way.

take whichever you feel you need more work on... i.e. what do you know better already? Both will be extremely helpful come med school so that doesn't matter. Good luck!

I've said it in one thread and I'll say it again here. I went from an 8 to a 12 in the bio sci section just by taking an upper level physio sequence.

Ill second that Nate, GENETICS was all over my MCAT and it was actually my (3) hardest passages in Bio. I say take genetics course and buy one of those physio review books,.. GOOD LUCK!!

I said it never.. and will say it now..

What is the hardest thing they had in Genetics... did they have chromosom Mapping.. NOOOOOoo.. They had simple family trees, crossing xy by x'y' and some co-dominance.

Let see for phy... Cardiology, Hematology, Muscle, Hormones, Blood sugar, nervous system.... Plus a lot of it was experiment questions. Something I incountered in my Physiology class... not so much in Genetics. ( BTW... I like my genetic course as well.. maybe take both).
