I always thought that every secondary needed a picture, but I'm getting secondary invites in the mail, and they don't seem to ask for it. Maybe it's just the school(s) I'm applying to, but I wonder if I'm missing something?

Should I send a pic out anyway with all paper secondaries?

Send a pic only when they ask for it.

I've heard that if schools don't ask for a picture with the secondary they'll ask for one when they offer you an interview. Only send in the picture if they've asked for one!

I will send one in if/when they ask me to. Not like I'm an archetype of masculine beauty anyway...

You're not? That's a shame, I think you'll have a tough time getting an acceptance.

Rumor is, if you send in a photo autographed by Chuck Norris, the adcoms either die of fear or let you into med school.

What are the odds either way?

to the OP, a school I got interview from wants 2 wallet sized pics to bring to interview

Okay, this may seem like an odd question, but what type of photo should be sent in?

I wonder if they reject people for being too ugly. It has to happen, right?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.
I know they say "Passport-style", but I'm wondering how much they care about the specific format as long as A) You look presentable, and B) No one else is in the pic or has been cropped out.

I've been sending a nice upper torso shot I had taken specifically for secondaries that's the standard 2' x 2'. It looks nice, but it isn't 'passport-style'. Hope it's not too big a deal...

I don't know if this is acceptable, but I just cropped me head out of my family's xmas card last year. Pic is alright and don't have a digital camera at my disposal

That's basically what I did too. I hope it will be alright! I figure if they wanted something specific, they would have mentioned it.
