I recently got into a PT program which begins May 2016. I'll be finishing up the last of my pre requisites this semester, leaving me with a good 4 months of nothing to do. I've been looking for temp jobs but I was wondering if using this time to get a pilates certification would be wise. I understand good certification programs can cost a couple thousand. My question is: has anyone found pilates exceptionally useful in their practice? Also, have any current PTs decided to get pilates certification after beginning their career in PT? What do you specialize in? Any other thoughts are welcome!

I have been asking myself the same question also. Any body can share some insights as the commitment to the certification is quite pricy.

I know that PMA is the most credible certifying body what they are very expensive and time consuming. You should just relax and enjoy the time off. I've got a few extra but none will really give value to my potential salary, and at the end of the day you will work as a PT and not a Pilates instructor.
