I am invited to both maryland and pittsburg interview. Which one you think is better worth going to? I probably won't be able to attend both. All my weeks are kinda busy from now on. So which one you think is a better school and has better facilities? what about the city?

Hi there,

My opinion might be biased, but I can only speak on behalf of pitt. The interview made me realize that the school has a lot to offer. This is the second year of the new simulation clinic which is extremely advanced. The curriculum stresses all aspects of dentistry such as the clinical, theory and research instead of some schools which are known for certain parts only. The faculty is absolutely great and very helpful. As for the city, the school is located in an area that isn't the greatest, but it is also located in Oakland which has a lot to offer. The area itself is very benificial since it increases the patient pool into the school.

I may be incorrect on this one but marryland might have lower tuition, so if money is an issue here, that can also influence your decision.

I hope this helps you out, and good luck with your decision. 🙂

I was in the same boat last year I did not go to Pittsburgh so I cannot talk much about Pittsburgh, but for Univ of Maryland here are the pros

Cheap school
Good Clinical
New building coming up next year that will be a great plus.
Good reputation among old Dental graduates. It's the first dental degree granting school.
Friendly staff.
NIH research funding is increasing every year.
