I was curious, I have an interview at Pitt Feb 20th. I know this is the last interview date for Pitt. I was wondering what the %acceptance rate is ( or approx). any info would be appreciated.
Thank,s

pitt has 3 interview dates in each the fall and spring. they admit half their class from fall interviews and half from spring. they make their decisions after all the fall interviews are conducted and then after all the spring interviews are conducted. so, all interview dates have equal amounts of students getting accepted.

Thanks for the info. So I am assuming that if the first half of the class had many peopel turn down their offers, there may still be alot of seats left for the second half of interviews

they said they offer 80 acceptances to the fall interviewees. generally, half of them accept. same with the spring. im not sure whether they offer extra seats to spring interviewees or unwaitlist fall interviewees if more seats are turned down than expected. either way, pitt is one of the best schools to have a late interview at when it comes to your chances of getting in.

I have an interview on the 20th too, premedman. Funny thing is that they never told me about it and told me only after I had called them. I was wondering, do you know how I can find out more about the school? I'm planning to drive there from Buffalo, NY. Stay at a hotel that night and drive to the school. 😴

farantino, i suggest you stay closer to the school. morning traffic is a biatch and you don't want to risk being late. the holiday inn was 2 blocks away and was $80 (plus pool and gym to unwind at night).

in other news, 9 letters of rec?!? do you have a pre-health advisor and if so, why didn't they stop you from doing that!!

I actually have 8 letters. My advisor told me that my letters of rec should be 5-7. I had 2 from professors that I did research with (bigshots), 3 from my professors (Orgo, Biology, physiology) and 1 from a dentist that I shadowed. Prehealth committee wrote the 7th one and the Endodontist that I am currently doing research for, wrote the 8th!

your advisor should be fired

i stayed with a friend in shady side and drove to the interview. there were no traffic problems at all. i know that is a day to day chance, but if you give yourself extra time you will be fine. the only problem i had was finding the parking garage that was $5 a day for the students and visitors. the directions on the sheet said "the parking garage at the top of the hill." haha, there were like 10 of them. i ended up parking right across from the dental school but it was like $20 instead of $5 👎
