Your interview appointment is confirmed for Monday, October 19. The weather here is looking to be more of the same that we’ve been experiencing...unseasonably cold, mid 30’s to 40’s, possible precipitation, same old, same old. PLEASE dress accordingly. We will be crossing to the Petersen Event Center for brunch, and it can get pretty windy on this hill.

If you are driving into the Oakland (University) area, parking will be difficult. Street parking is totally not available. There is a UPMC lot across from the front of Salk Hall, but it is very PRICEY! A better bet is to continue up the hill on Darraugh Street past the Dental School, turning right at Joe Trees Hall, then left into the OC parking lot (check on ”http://www.pitt.edu/">www.pitt.edu for a campus map). There are shuttles available from the lot at 15 minute intervals. Walking down is easy, walking up is not. While I love great looking shoes as well as the next woman, keep in mind that our school is located on an intense hill (the nickname Cardiac Hill should give it away!) and interviews are always easier when your feet DON’T hurt! (Be forewarned! Last year, an interviewee commented that she wasn’t happy with the stairs in our building as she was wearing great looking heels, and her feet were killing her!)

Arriving very early is not necessary. We begin the day at 8:45 am. You may begin registration at 8:30. Arriving at 7:00 or ever 7:30 is way too early! The day is long enough, please don’t extend it. Get that extra half hour of sleep. If you do arrive early, please have a seat in the first floor lobby.

is is just me or i think Rose has a sense of humor.
Sucks for me, i have this great looking heels, now i probably have to wear Ugg boot when i walk up the hill

Oh she's not kidding about that hill, it's like you're fricken walking up a 30 degree slope for 2 blocks. I've seen big trucks slip like 15 feet back after stopping at a light on the hill, it's nuts. If you're planning on walking up the hill, prepare to be a bit sweaty by the time you get up to the top, haha. Though, most of you should be fine, and just have your hotel shuttles take you right to the front door of the school.

The Dental School is that brown shape at the top of the hill. Lets just say that within 2 blocks it goes from the ground floor of the med school being the first floor , to it being the 4th floor of the med school on street level.

And like she said, you don't need to get there too early - the registration area might take you a few minutes to find, so I'd say 15 minutes early would be fine. I'm sure if you get there ear;y some of us students will probably keep an eye out for you, haha, interviewees are usually pretty easy to spot, that big crowd wearing suits. And yup, Rose is great.
