Hey all-
I know this has been covered before but I couldn't find a recent post that addressed this with any certainty. So here are my questions, hope someone can help me out. I'm going to call AADSAS on my lunch break and I'll update this thread if they can't be answered in a few hours.

1. Are course put under planned/in progress a binding contract? Obviously you want them to be as accurate as possible, but sometimes scheduling doesn't work out the way you want.

2. Do your planned/in process courses need to be on your official transcript? I mailed mine when the cycle opened, but at the time I was only signed up for 2 classes, and they show up on my transcript for Fall 2013. I'm planning on taking 4 and want my app to reflect that, but the transcript they have doesn't.

3. If you're missing any pre reqs, should they be listed in the planned/in progress section? Will the school still consider your app if your missing pre reqs and they're not in this section?

Thanks everyone!

1) I doubt that. Plans, and life circumstances, change.

2) It's likely the only value the presence of a course has on your transcript is after it has been completed, with a letter grade.

3) One could argue that putting required courses in the planned section shows awareness of a school's requirements. One could also argue that if you're a strong enough applicant you'll receive an acceptance anyway, albeit with conditions.

Not sure why you'd call aadsas on this. Your concerns appear to lie more in the realm of what schools might like to see.

I graduated in Finance and went back post bacc to do prereqs but i only did the bare basics. (GC OC Bio) and plan to do physics (maybe micro bio and biochemistry too) in the fall/spring. If put in those courses under planned will I have an issue for not completing those classes (physics) prior to applying?

No, they are not binding. (well, at least I changed some of my classes). However, if you put that you will be taking a prereq, the schools will be counting on that and you must have that completed even if you get accepted early on.

I called AADSAS a few weeks ago about this, and I can confirm that they only need transcripts for institutions where you have completed courses with a letter grade. For example, I'm currently enrolled in a summer class (in-progress) but since I've never been previously enrolled or have completed a course at this particular institution, I was told by the representative that I didn't need to send a transcript for it quite yet. Otherwise it'd pretty much be a blank transcript
