I'll be starting dental school at Ohio State this fall. I'll also be getting married. As the male, my responsibilities are pretty small compared to the heap of work my bride will be doing in the next few months.

What I am wondering is how hard it will be to drive two hours away for a wedding on a Saturday and get back in time for classes on a Monday. I don't really know how steep the work load is in dental school, and if leaving for a weekend is considered suicide. We are thinking of having the wedding before my classes start, but we'd have a lot more time to prepare if we could put it somewhere in September or October instead of early August. Given the typical D1 schedule, does it really matter when we have it? It would be on a Saturday regardless. Is there ever any reason that I would have to be on campus on a Saturday?

You will be just fine. One of my best friend got married same time as you last year. Just make sure that you manage your time well during that brief period.

...

The typical woman makes up the work for themselves. Along for the ride, my friend...along for the ride. After over a decade of marriage I've learned that when it comes to things like home decorating and weddings, I'm merely along for the ride. Might as well stand in front of an F5 tornado and stop if with one's bare hands.:naughty:👍:luck:

I go to Ohio State so I know you will be fine with that plan. A bunch of people get married in the midst of dental school. Some drive home 2 hours over the weekend to see family.

If you're interested here is your schedule for next August. You guys have pretty easy Mondays and Fridays!

Also remember to tip the photographer well 😉

I wish you the best of luck on your college journey, and your married life! Everything will fall into place as you want it, as long as you work hard to make it happen!
