Hello, I am a fourth year medical student and am currently applying for residencies. Is there any way I can have access to the real start dates for programs that I am applying to. I am trying to plan a destination wedding and thought I would be safe planning it for the first week of june, but I just found out that the orientation for the program at my own institution started June 6th this year!! Is there anyway I can see this information ahead of time? Frieda says July for everything including my own program so I know that does not include orientation.

Does it matter? Would you actually rank a program lower because you may not plan the ideal wedding week? Make it in may...

Of course not! But I can't go in May for various reasons and I don"t want to spend thousands of dollars booking something that will have to be cancelled and forfeited, but I also don't want to miss out on this really nice opportunity for our families if I can! If it turns out I get the first week of June off, then I want to do it, it doesn't seem like an unreasonable question to me...
