I'm writing on behalf of my girlfriend, who is entering her 4th year of med school soon. She's considering surgery as a residency option and wants to know the ins and outs of post-residency plastics fellowships. Specifically:
Where are the best plastics fellowship programs?
How competitive are they? Obviously they are really competitive, but just how beefed up does your resume have to be to have a shot at a good program (publications, recommendations, etc.)?
How much does your residency placement affect your chances of getting a plastics fellowship?
