I don't know man, I always though Derm, Optho, and Rads had great lifestyles too.. maybe you should add those to your list as well.

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

im torn between the 2 and i was just wondering.... who do u think has the better lifestyle????

Really? You are a pre-med asking other pre-meds what is the best specialty?

INR?

Interventional Neuroradiology?

Love questions like this in pre-allo.

It's like a high school student trying to decide between being Governor of Indiana or Oil Tycoon.

Chubbs, you're not a med student yet. I know it's tempting but you might want to hold off for another 4 months

I put it on there to enter for the stuff in test prep week.

INR has a better lifestyle. But aPTT has no overnight call.

I want to specialize in neonatal intensive interventional transplant dermoradiology, what's my chance?

If by INR you mean interventional neuroradiology and you think that has a good lifestyle, you have a lot to learn, young grasshopper.

I thought INR lifestyle isn't that great. I read from the other forum that the increase in pay isnt that much more than regular rads and the call is pretty crazy, so a lot of rads don't go for it.

For real people? Why is everyone ragging on the damn OP, honestly if you think the post was stupid idea then dont read it.. simple. Or if you see someone has already been a douche really, what is the point of readdressing it?

The reason this could be in the Pre-Allo forum is because like this individual there could be others whom are just as inquisitive and want a simple answer.

You need to figure this out before you get into med school. You probably should have already known and done extensive research in the field post-high school. I'd look into a post bacc immediately.

It's always the same pattern:

Initial Pre-Med Post

"I'm torn between Pediatric Skull-Base Neurosurgery & Craniofacial Recontructive Surgery. Which one should I do?"

3mo later

"I'm looking into SMPs, which is the most prestigous?"

6mo later

"I know Georgetown's SMP says you have to have a 3.0, but a 2.9 is close, will they still take me?"

9mo later

"I really think Ross might be a good fit for me."

12mo later

"It's just not worth it to be a doctor these days, PA is definitely the way to go!"

24mo later

"Anyone know if you need to do good in math to get into nursing school?"

Do you people seriously not realize this is an obvious troll post?

posts like this need to be heavily bashed as a prophylactic measure against more childish posts.

I agree, I don't know who is worse the OP or the smurf.

Some Things:

1. this post is silly, once you start your rotations then try to determine a specialty.
2. focus on getting in to mschool(if you have already been accepted than go party or something)
3. this is the pre-allo forum, I know a lot of people think this is the only forum(or the only one that is highly trafficked) but there are others, this question should not be in this forum.

Besides, by the time you're actually going to be applying for INR fellowships, it may not even exist anymore. INR is quickly falling away from radiology and into the realm of neurosurgery.
