Hi, I am a senior boy in my high school and I applied for the 7 years joint degree dental program. I am now get accepted in Nova and Detroit, and in the waitlist for nyu. To maintain in the program, the GPA required for Nova is 3.4 (during your undergraduate years) , for Detroit is 3.6 (overall)and 3.5 (sciences courses), for nyu is 3.2..
I can't help myself to decide of which school should I spend my next 7 years, so please if someone have an idea about these 3 schools to help me to decide (like which school should be first choice, which is second,....etc), I really appreciate it.
Hope to hear ideas from all of you.
Thanks a lot,

Which one is cheaper over the 7 years including living expenses? There is your winner!!! All dental schools teach you how to be a dentist...the difference is the money/leverage you have after dental schools to accomplish your dreams and live comfortably...

Thanks a lot, Twenty Twelve for your advice, I think that I will probably choose Detroit which is closed to my house (3 hours driving), because the cost for Detroit or Nova is about the same, but I am scared of the required GPA (for 3 years undergraduates ) of Detroit which is 3.6 . Do you know whether it's hard or not to have the cumulative GPA of 3.6 at Detroit?
Once again, i really appreciate your help

I would take the easier gpa route, and just cruise for the next 7 years. I have heard of many friends who get kicked out of these advanced placement programs, because of screwing up their gpa.

There's a big difference between 3.2 (NYU) and 3.6 (Detroit)! Take the easiest route, unless you are confident that you can keep up with 3.6+.
Keep in mind there's a huge difference between HS and college. If you are gifted and think you can breeze through 7 years with high GPA, then just pick the cheapest/most convenient school.

I dont think that you should let the gpa requirement scare you. Higher gpa means a school that sets high standards for themselves, making you set a higher standard for yourself. If you happen to fall slightly below the gpa of Detroit, at least you would still be more competitive than if your gpa fell short for nova or nyu for regular aadsas admission.

A 3.6 GPA is about A- level work. If you don't think you can handle that, don't go to Detroit. I wouldn't let it scare me away though. I'd go to Detroit.
