Hi, I am thinking of replacing an Introduction to Biochemistry with a course code of 201 that I took at a university with an Introduction to Biochemistry online with a course code of 301. Both courses have the same name and the number of credits. But the one I want to take again is in the 300 level... Would that still count for grade replacement? Thanks.

Your best bet would be to explain your situation to AACOMAS, they will be able to give you your answer and it'll be coming from a primary source. Send them an email with the details of your situation while you wait for other responses to this post.

Yes. They replaced something similar for me. As long as it is the same number of units or MORE, then you should be fine. I took "Survery of Biology"(Bio 310) which was 3 units, and didn't do well because I fell ill during the final. I then took the appropriate pre-med biology, "Principles of Biology" (Bio 400) which was 4 units. AACOMAS counted the second course as a grade replacement. I remember being really stressed out about it because I wasn't sure if they would allow it to replace my first grade (which brought down my GPA significantly), but they certainly did! I think you should be fine, so don't worry! Of course, I can't guarantee it, but as long as you LIST IT as being a repeat/grade replacement on your AACOMAS application (don't forget to mark it as a repeat), then I think you'll get it replaced.

Worst case scenario, they will ask you to send them a catalogue description of both courses to make sure they are close enough in content to be considered "equivalent." They did not ask me to do that though, but I read somewhere that they sometimes request it.

level number doesn't matter. just content and credits
