Hi new here
I am currently a biochemistry student in California State University.
I am an incoming sophomore.
Due to the financial issues, I spend about 2-3 hours on commuting(cannot afford housing).
I currently have 3.64 GPA.
I really want to keep my GPA high enough, even though I barely have anytime to study.
I am also a volunteer in a well-known hospital and planning on doing for the rest of my college years.
I am also studying for pharmacy technician and probably take the test early next year.
I can get recommendation letters from some pharmacists and professor because they know I've been working very hard.
I tried to join the pre-pharmacy club, but I did not have the time for it (besides commuting, their meeting times were always conflicted with my schedule).

Is joining clubs really that important? I really want to be a pharmacist because of my devastating experiences with family deaths. I am willing to join the club, but my time doesn't allow me. Do I have a chance at all?

No, I don't think joining a club is that big of a deal. They are just really informative on the application and interview process. They also have lots of volunteer opportunities, which is what schools care about more. Just my opinion 🙂

Keep doing what you're doing. You should not need to join any clubs and will remain competitive if you keep doing what you are doing.

I did not join any school organizations due to time conflict and it did not cause any problem in my school acceptance. You will be fine =P
