Okay, so I live in Omaha, Nebraska. I have been accepted to Kansas University, Arizona State University, and University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Let us assume I am not going to take the pre-medical route in my undergraduate years, and instead I will study engineering. I want to have a lot of possibilities with my engineering degree, because I have not decided what discipline within engineering I want to pursue. But the main issue is that I want the best possible undergraduate education. I want to get accpeted to a high profile graduate program for engineering; think MIT or Cal-tech. So I guess my question is which school would be academically best?

I would just go to ASU because it is a fun school with awesome weather.

You are going to receive a similar education regardless... just get a good GPA and your possibilities for entering a good graduate program should be fine (considering all the other factors)

In state, I would go to U of Nebraska.

from the 3 you mentioned you already got accepted to (assuming you dont get into any "high profile" engineering schools, as you put it)

why not just go to UN-L? your from nebraska already so that must be your instate. No point in going to the other ones where the tuition and expenses would be higher. Im sure UN-L has engineering and pre-med tracks, w.e you decide to do.

All of the schools you've been accepted to should provide a similar level of education so I would base it off other factors. Make a list of school factors like size, weather, location, unique programs, tuition, etc. and see which ones look the most promising to you. If you haven't already, visit the schools and see what you think.

Just remember to keep your GPA up wherever you end up at and you'll be in a good position when it comes to apply to graduate schools or medical school.

I'd go to either ASU or UNL and then narrow it down based on fit. ASU has a very good honors program (Barrett) and are apparently good with scholarships, too. I don't know much about UNL.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk. KU. Great engineering, although exceedingly tough and it has no grade inflation.
