AA 22 TS 22 PAT 21 (BIO 25 GC 21 OC 22 QR 22 RC 22)
oGPA 3.53
sGPA (w/ BCP) 3.35
BCP 3.41
Non-traditional (was on public health path/ took some of prereqs during post-bacc)
Graduated from one of the Ivies in 2011
I re-calculated my GPAs since I am done with all prereqs now. They've changed a bit.
EC:
Research for 2 years+ (have 3 publications/1 publication pending; but all co-authors)
OR assistant (but it was a temporary job)
~300+ hours of volunteering (including both health-related/non-related)
~50 hours of general dent+perio shadowing
Teaching job in Asia
Other activities like clubs, organizations (I thought it's unnecessary to list all of them here)
*I listed ECs that I did within the recent 3 years. I don't know if I would have enough space to list all relevant ECs I did back in college.
*I have moved around a lot, so I'm confused which state I am resident of.....lol
Currently residing in MA for few years.
My list:
BU
NYU
Temple
Tufts
Case Western
UoP
USC
UCLA
Columbia
Penn
Buffalo
Creighton
Pittsburgh
Midwestern
I know Columbia and Penn are a bit stretch for my GPA and DAT, but wanted to include some 'reach' schools.
I might have lower chances for CA schools, but I lived in CA until my high school, so I just included them as well.
Tuition will be covered for all 4 years, so I also included those expensive schools like BU and USC.
I have asked many friends who are already in dental schools, but they only gave very optimistic opinions and encouraged me that I'll be okay for the most schools.
But I feel like my GPA falls into a lower end of the group, and my DAT scores are not high enough to make up my GPA.
Please throw your thoughts on my list and my chances on those schools.
You can always add/remove!! Any opinion will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance 🙂
