  1. Pre-Dental
I just received my grades from the past quarter. I got a B in the OChem Lecture (3 units) but a C- in the lab portion (1 unit). Does this mean I need to retake the lab portion since a C- is not acceptable for dental schools? Please help, anything would be appreciated. Unfortunately, the institution I attend doesn't allow retakes since I technically "passed" the lab portion. Should I then re-take the lab portion at a different college or CC? Thank you.

Hey! Some schools do allow C-'s. When they say nothing lower than a C, they generally mean you can't have D's or lower (grades that aren't passing). Especially because it's just the lab portion, I would not worry about retaking since you got a B in the overall class. However, if you're worried about it, you can always ask the schools you are thinking about applying to in the future what they think about the C-. But you should be fine!
