OptomCAS calculates everything imaginable. So they calculate your chemistry GPA, Bio GPA, physics GPA, BCP GPA (all three of those sciences together), "other sciences" GPA, all sciences together, etc. Then each school decides what they will use - some only use total science GPA and overall GPA...others use the BCP. It's a huge table on OptomCAS once they calculate them all.
OptomCAS takes the most recent grade for a class - so whether it went up or down when you retook it, it just uses the newer grade. There's a whole FAQ about how you need to enter that into the online worksheet. But that's their policy.
