Listen man, if you have the money to afford it, apply this year. You have a chance, sure, but not a great one. I'm not being rude I'm just trying to to tell you how it is. Your gpa is okay, not great, your ECs are really good, which helps, but you're MCAT and timing in the application cycle for the retake are really going to hurt your chances.

I'm currently a MS-1 at Touro-NY and I'll give you a brief breakdown of the stats for our first class. GPA: 3.3 overall, 3.1 science, MCAT: 26, Age: 25 (Read: Most people in our class have worked in some form in a health care setting, like you, or have gotten masters degrees). So even though they'll accept your application and score in January, you're going to have to improve your MCAT 8 points just be at the average for the first class. In my opinion, you'd have to score higher than a 27 to help make up for poor first score.

Also, if schools ask why you did so poorly the first time, don't say "I was nervous and stressed." Everyone is. And in their minds if you get that nervous for a test how in the world are you going to able to take the boards? Tell them what happened, they're usually pretty understanding of such extenuating circumstances.
