Hi, I'm having trouble making this decision because I've heard U Minnesota is a good program, but not many reasons why. Any insight into quality of training or what call is like? Morning/weekend lectures?

Thank you SO much!

Seattle is a nice city but the Ophtho program is still in the process of establishing itself. Their residents also get slammed on call because of all the trauma that comes through Harborview. In my opinion, there is absolutely no need to go overboard with ocular trauma experience (to the point of burning out) as a resident, so this was a big drawback for me. I'd go with UM.

Is your question re: which interview to choose or rank list ordering?

Thanks for the reply! I have read that call is extremely busy, but I don't know what to compare it to at U of Minnesota. What is the surgical/clinical experience like at UM? What are the didactics and call like? I feel like I don't know what to weigh Seattle against, if that makes sense. Thanks again!
