I'm trying to edit my AMCAS information and was wondering if this is appropriate. Last year, I listed that I was both a member and an officer of a student organization as one post-secondary EC and ran out of room to describe my activities and responsibilities. As a member and an officer, I did different things. This year, I started to separate the two and listed them as two different activities so I can better explain what I did in each. What do you think? Is it even worth it to change? Is this considered one activity or two? I want to emphasize my leadership activity in one and community service efforts in the other. I was a member for half of a year before I became an officer. Thanks in advance for your help.

If at all possible I would try to limit it to one EC slot. Maybe use a list format to describe all duties under both member and officer. I don't think they'll need you to tell them which duties fell under which title.

Thanks for the response, DoctorFunk (cool name 😀 ).

I just wanted to know how others went about reporting these activities? Did you guys just clumped it as one (like I did last year), although you held different responsibilities? Thanks for the help.

No you should clump it. For example I had a lot of IM sports but clumped all the different sports together. Just clump it and discuss your major leadership activities in the description. Good luck. :luck:
