Hi everyone,
I'm presently doing residency in medicine but will like to change to anethesia basically cos I LOVE procedures and always feel happy doing them. I do not want surgery cos of the lifestyle. Now it is latel applying for anesthesia residency so I have decided to wait till next yr when I'll be in pgy2 and will apply for a CA-1 position.
My question now is it is possible to get a CA-2 position if I start doing electives and icu rotations to make a total of 12 months in addition to my intern yr.
If possible which rotations will do you advise. 😕

Nope. You'll be a CA-1. I'm in a similar boat. I'm a PGY-3 in medicine and will be doing anesthesia next July. If you want a spot for next July, I'd send out mass emails to all the programs and hope there's an open spot. Otherwise, get your application together asap and send it to freida.
