Here is the situation:

Got appraisals from 3 AP attendings(we have only 3 AP attd): one (who found of checking stock at work) checked no on all the catagories. comment--level lower than 1st year ( he was the one said you will do find after this year training months ago). 2nd attd ( who found of real estate.): checked yes or no. comment--grossing has problem (to a previous 2yrs PA). 3rd attending (who hasn't signed off autopsy case from 2008 and was reminded once a while) checked yes to all the appraisal catagories but comment--3 yrs training not count. Sound like game. Is there no law or rules to restrict them for gaming like this.

Program director said to continue fighting with them but life will be hard. Academic affair said they only trust program director and asked 'do you know why this program is going to close in couple of years?' which didn't know then. Now know from program director-- it is because those AP attandings don't teach. (had to go to ASCP,oslar, harvard coursd etc. twice a year with own money, vacation time, intend to make that up)

What to do? Should continue work hard or find another spot? Is it possible to find a 4th year training slot? Feel Some sort of bias, did half amount of total non-ME autopsys program got last year (9 residents total, this program is on probation because of less non-ME autopsy case), made more presentations than all the others, no accident, no major mistake, but getting those instead. Would it make the case to contact ACGME.

Thanks.

don't know how to put this nicely- you need to work on your english communication. your post is borderline incomprehensible and honestly some of your issues with attendings could be related to this fact.

I can't understand what you are talking about either. Your program sounds like it has major issues, my suggestion would be to work as hard as you can for however long you are there and move on. Report any violations to the ACGME if you are sure there are violations. Sounds to me like this program probably shouldn't have residents.

Sorry for the communication issue. Got hit big time.
Yes. They are closing this progrm in couple of years.

Confused with 3 appraisal letters (which listed A-Z categories of resident performance to be evaluated from) from only 3 AP attending:

1st attending: checked 'NO' to all, with comment ' levels lower than 1st year. (Months ago, he said that you will do fine after this years training.)
2nd attanding: checked 'Yes' or 'No', with comment 'gross has problem' ( to a previous 2yr PA before enrolling the program?)
3rd attending: checked 'Yes' to all, but with comment '3 years not count'. (is this a joke).

Didn't sign. Will bring these to Academy fair.

But has anybody gotten into same situation?

Thanks.

Stop talking. With sentence fragments.

This is why I wouldn't mind competing against Corporate Pathology if they employ suboptimal pathologists. How could anyone interpret this guy's report?

Pathology reports and interpretations require extensive knowledge of nuances of the English language so as to help direct clinical decision making.

Come on Corporate path has realized this and hired people to have template diagnoses for these kinds of workers. That was an easy one to solve.

Am I interpreting this post correctly?

You are a 3rd year resident who was previously a PA for 2 years. You were evaluated by 3 attendings. One attending, who checks his stocks at work, said that your competency was lower than a first year. A second attending, who looks at real estate listings at work, said your grossing skills need improvement. A third attending said that your 3 years of training haven't counted for much. The program is going to close in a couple of years because the AP attendings don't teach. You have had to spend your own money/vacation time to go to review courses to get teaching. You are looking for a program to transfer into for your 4th year of residency.

Is that correct? If so, the University of Florida at Jacksonville has an open PGY4 spot for next year. http://www.pathologyoutlines.com/jobs.html#residency

Your current program sounds suboptimal to say the least. Good luck. I hope you find something.

I am having trouble believing that a pathology resident in the U.S. wrote this. BTW, brilliant job of translation above - the original post made my head hurt.

Agree with you. I'm calling shenanigans on this one.

Very clever of you. Yes, I am not a pathology resident, or I wouldn't check the school admin as my identification, right?

I was just trying to help someone who is in deep depression. Since I am not in this field so I don't know how to help, even something doesn't sound right to me. I ran across this forum and read some threads the other day. Thought there are some decent, very professional people here might know more, which I think it is true now, so I posted the story here.

I did wrote in phrase sometimes only was trying to avoid using 'I' as subject in the sentence. Guess it didn't work out well.

Anyway, thanks for your response here.
