PMHNP salary?

DO student here interested in psych. One of my friends is starting an accelerated nursing program and she told me that she eventually wants to be a PMHNP. I know that midlevels in psych exist but I had no clue what they did. She told me that she would mostly be doing med management.

I know as a nurse in our area she can expect to make ~70k. Does anyone here know how much a PMHNP makes? If you could list the region of the country and the salary that would be beneficial. I assume they make like 100k?

I looked it said average for my area is 140k and the 75th percentile makes 153k. The data said some psych NPs in my area make as much as 220k.

Jeez, and I thought RN's (not APRN/CRNA/PMHNP) making $160k here was crazy.

I'm confused about why you care what her potential earning would be. You're in DO school already so go with that and don't worry about how she's going to make.

Actually CRNAS make the most money but it's much harder to get into. CRNA schools still have standards while online diploma mill NP schools have none except having a BSN.

yeah, CRNA's aren't classified as NP's though as far as I know of, because as you said, CRNA schools have "standards", most of which is just 'this many hours in ICU'

Technically CRNAS are classified as nurse anesthetists but they are still mid-level providers.
