PMR and Peds at same Hospital

My girlfriend is an IMG who has applied to both PMR and Peds at the same hospitals. Is this a bad idea? Please advise how this might affect her, if at all.

Uh well faculty talk and may see you interviewing with another department. If they know she is applying to another specialty they will likely rank her lower, especially if they suspect (PM&R) that they are a "backup."

I would imagine Peds would be the backup in this situation.

That being said though, if she does get an interview for both, and is spotted by the first residency's PD while she is on her second interview, it will likely make both programs rank her significantly lower.
