Hello to all you ortho surgeons. For those of you currently in a residency program at a hospital that also houses a podiatric surgical residency program, I have a question for you. What is your relationship like with the pod residents and/or attendings? I know there is some "turf" overlap between ortho and pod and certain turf battles sometime occur. I am a second year podiatric medical student and would like to do a residency in a location where I can get experience from both podiatric surgeons as well and orthopedic surgeons. I would like to maintain a good relationship with orthos throughout my career. So at your institution, do pod residents rotate through ortho? How are they perceived? Do they get good exposure to orthopedic surgical techniques involving the foot and ankle? Thanks for your comments.
