Is it possible for a podiatrist to specializing in working with patients with obesity? Bariatrics is another field that interests me and I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether or not podiatrists can be hired by obesity clinics? Anyone know how i could find out more info about this? thanks in advance!

The main times you really work with obesity are diabetes or lymphedema.

Pods obviously wouldn't be doing bariatric surgery or anything like that, but you could be an important part of the health care team if obesity interests you. :corny::corny::corny:

A specialty that probably does a lot more w/ bariatrics and feet is vascular. They generally put in a IVC filter before the surgery b/c thrombosis is the #1 post-op killer. Vascular also does a lot of lower extremity work.
