so now that the exam is only 308 questions total, how many points is a question worth?

It's not on a scale like that. It's like the mcat. Maybe if you miss 50 questions, you may have the same score as someone who missed 52. But missing 1 vs 5 questions is 30 pts.

hmm...so is there like a general idea or average that out of 308 questions, what is the lowest amount you need to get right to pass? I know you can't pinpoint a number, but there must be an average from like the last 3-4-5 years or so?

So how many questions do you need to get right to pass the usmle? I thought the score is exactly number of Q's you got right, so 308 being a perfect score, and 188/308 = 61% needed to pass

I have a feeling this is wrong. Hopefully someone here can tell me the reality is more forgiving!

This is wrong. No one knows how it actually works and no point in speculating.

There is no set worth for each question because the scores are derived from statistics.
