points per question for step 1

It's not on a scale like that. It's like the mcat. Maybe if you miss 50 questions, you may have the same score as someone who missed 52. But missing 1 vs 5 questions is 30 pts.
 
hmm...so is there like a general idea or average that out of 308 questions, what is the lowest amount you need to get right to pass? I know you can't pinpoint a number, but there must be an average from like the last 3-4-5 years or so?
 
So how many questions do you need to get right to pass the usmle? I thought the score is exactly number of Q's you got right, so 308 being a perfect score, and 188/308 = 61% needed to pass

I have a feeling this is wrong. Hopefully someone here can tell me the reality is more forgiving!
