Police Officer to Doctor

Hey everyone! I wanted to know if there are any former police officers who have applied, are applying or are thinking about applying to med school. I was in the medical field for about 10 years and have been in law enforcement for about 2 years now. I have wanted to become a doctor for a very long time but different circumstances led me to go another path in my life. I have finally decided that I am just going to have to buckle down and do what I have to do to accomplish my true dream. I am 29yr old and am finishing my BS and will be starting to take my med school pre-reqs this coming year. Any advice or info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I remember reading a few years ago about a police chief that started medical school at 51. I just poked around and can't find the article. The guy had a very interesting story.
