Would you rather go thru another 4 weeks of Histo/embryology....or continue with this Immunology class???

I can't tell where I'm sitting on this one!

It's a difficult decision. Both classes have so much to offer. I mean, with H/E, you have cute Mocky-Mock telling us about spider bats, the vagina, and 'going down' on someone (which, for all of you non-histo 2005 KCOMers, is a 100% purely scientific term...we just never figured out exactly what it means!) Not to mention, the vast amount of interesting, useful, everyday knowledge is 1st rate.

However, with Immunology, and all those numbers, I'm thinking I could get a degree in accounting by just taking that class....THAT would come in really handy when we all open our own clinics. Or, even better, that class offers us a solid foundation of thinking on many different levels at the same time...which comes in handy for our weekend tournaments of Intramural Lincoln Log Cabin Building, Lego Dinosaur Spars, and our National Winning Cheerleading Pyramid Squad.

I can't decide! What do you think?

Double elle,

Do you get to pick one or the other? If you take one, can you get the other later?

Although you do make H/E sound like a class where you constantly smile 😀 I think I would choose the immunology because I think that with the way the world is going with diseases and immune resistences, that would be really helpful info to have under your scrub cap.

Though...of course, I am not a med student. Just being curious. 🙂

Wifty,

The poll is a joke. We just finished Histo/Embryology last quarter...and we all hated it. Now, we've just begun Immuno class...and we dislike it, too....Alot of tedious facts to cram into the cranium...

I always thought of Immunology as third quarter histo...

I see your 4 weeks, and raise you a week... thats right, 5 weeks of histo. I would take 5 more weeks of histology/embryology over this immunology class. Not that the information isn't useful to us, it just seems like I am swimming in a sea of cytokines, and the classical/lectin/alternative pathways are the sharks that are gonna take me under at any moment!

Oh...LOLOL

You all remind me of that Dr.Seuss book -
Would you could you in a box?
Would you could you with a fox?
No sir, not in a box, not with a fox,
I will not take immuno sir....even if you offer lox.

🙂

I feel like I must post and defend immunology! I like it sooo much better than H/E! It's quite simple just memorize the following and you'll be fine:

C5b6a7b8a9cdf
C4a5b6d7fBP

and don't forget
CD1 - CD 2million <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

For all of you who miss H/E just do some outside research on the bifid penis.

All I have to say about immuno is that is seems like an "all-stars" collection of all the worst things I hated about biochem.
I think I would prefer H\E simply because I know I could flunk all five weeks of that class and still receive a passing grade.

Sorry to crash your survey but I just have to voice my concern and dislike for the whole subject of immunology. I agree with the poster above who compared it to all of the thinks they didn't like about biochem all rolled into one.

The true bighter in all of this is that I have to do a presentation on Friday for Surgey Grand Rounds on sepsis, how it works, possible treatments etc. In my research for the presentation I am coming across all kinds of cytokines, interleukens etc. This stuff didn't make sense 2 years ago when I was a first year. It makes even less now!

Am I the only one who is (dare I say it?) enjoying Immunology? Give me more!

You can take mine, ER. <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

Don worry ER_DOc, you are not alone! I too really am enjoying immunology. I am actually sad that it is only half a quarter.

Maybe I better wait until thursday when I get my test score to say that.

Can't believe there are people who are enjoying third quarter histo. Maybe there's an Immuno flu going around...
