I'm conducting a non-scientific poll to determine how early other people are finishing up with classes. As of this week how many of you are completely finished with second year coursework and now solely studying for the COMLEX?

Done with classes and exams. Just have some busywork (Procedures, CSE) this week then we're done. Officially started dedicated study today.

Took my last exam on new material March 27. Now have required attendance at a comprehensive review course and a sprinkling of other activities.

I'm now <45 days until USMLE and my COMLEX is two weeks after.

That sounds like a pretty good gig actually. VCOM?

It seems like we go really late into the Spring so I was curious how long other schools are still going at it. Our last curriculum exam is on May 15th, CPEs end on May 19th, mandatory COMBANK practice exam on May 20th, and that wraps out the semester.

Our deadline for taking the COMLEX is June 14th so only a little less than 4 weeks between the end of our semester and test deadline! Crunch time it is!

Yes, VCOM-VA. The course is both a blessing and a curse, depending on who you are. Either way, the extended time to prep is nice. We also have a required COMSAE that we have to take prior to taking our boards as well, and our deadline for the COMLEX is later as well.

Just waiting on some GA-PCOM students to come in here and be upset

Care to elaborate?

There is no designated board prep time, however the 3rd term schedule is markedly lighter leaving plenty of time to study & this year they are allowing students to take their clinical elective vacation month (May of 4th year) and move it to June or July to study.

I'm definitely jealous. We still have remaining:

12 lecture hours
Neuro/MSK/BehMed written exam
Two OPP Labs
OPP/Foundations of Modern Healthcare written exam
OPP Practical
Essentials of Patience Care final (200 questions, cumulative from Day 1)
Final CPE
Mandatory COMBANK Exam
and we've already taken COMSAE Form D and one COMBANK exam.

Would love to know how VCOM and other schools finish up so early!

That's pretty much what DCOM does except I don't feel our schedule is much lighter. The third year vacation month must be taken in July. We begin rotations July 28. And then we get a month fourth year as well.
