I have been accepted to PT school (which I thought would be the hard part) but now I have been looking at paying for it. I have found out that only around $20k will be loaned with no credit check via Stafford loans. The school said they are not sure about Perkins loans($8K) as their fiscal year runs from July to July (school starts in May) and they are not sure about their budget or allotted money.
The issue is tuition and books runs approx. $29K. I have a free place to stay (family house) but will have the rest of life's expenses, not to mention I have two children. So to make a long story short does anyone know how to go about securing an additional loan to cover the rest of the school's expenses and more for living expenses with poor credit and no co-signer?
I checked archives and did not find any other situations that mirrored this one. Thanks for any input. 😕

Graduate Plus Loan. No co-signer required as long as you don't have "bad" credit. Will cover the remainder of your educational costs. I think you can apply for it after you get your financial aide award.

👍 Here's a link with more info on the Grad Plus loan.

It's pretty bad. I was part owners in a business that flopped in 2008 with the housing collapse. I used a lot of personal credit to keep the business going. When It failed I went back to undergrad to finish my bachelors in 2009. Now here I am in 2012 and that old business is still haunting me.

I have but nothing is real immediate in terms of fixing it. I start school in May. I'm sure everything is going to work out somehow. I always try to stay positive and keep moving forward so this is going to have to be my same approach here
